By cutting small triangular chips, you’ll create beautiful geometric designs and complete your own bird wall hanging. Along the way, you’ll learn essential skills in tool care, timber selection, and finishing, guided by contemporary artist and woodcarver Wanda Gillespie. Chip Carving Masterclass Learn the basics of Chip Carving in this masterclass with the guidance of Wanda Gillespie. In this 4 hour masterclass you'll learn both modern and traditional techniques in the ancient art of chip carving. Each student will be given their very own carving blank, knife, non-slip mat, sharpening and honing tools as well as in depth guidance on all applicable methods to be able to continue your journey at home.

Ask Questions: If you're unsure about anything, don't hesitate to ask.
Look Out for Others: You are responsible for the safety of others. If you see something unsafe, speak up.
Dress Appropriately: Wear closed-toe shoes and tie back long hair.
Be Considerate: Respect those working around you and give a warning before making loud noises.
Clean Up: Always clean your workspace, return tools, and sweep up after use.
Limit Phone Use: Keep cell phone usage to a minimum.
Handle Tools Safely: Respect the sharpness of the tools. No one under the influence will be allowed to attend.
Embrace Mistakes: Learn from them—don’t be afraid to make them.
