Numinosity Contemporary Art Tasmania 27 Tasma St, North Hobart 27 Tasma Street, North Hobart Opening 5:30 17 September 2021 18 September - 24 October 2021
I have several pieces in 'Numinosity', a group exhibition opening next week at Contemporary Art Tasmania. I'm excited to be showing my abacus piece again from NGV design week earlier this year, alongside some of my favourite artists Belle Bassin, Belinda Winkler, Veronica Kent and Sean Peoples.
'The works in Numinosity look beyond the limitations of everyday rational activity, touching on ideas of spiritualism, meditative and hypnogogic states, but exist outside any particular religious tradition. Much like the process of artists opening themselves to possibility, Numinosity is an opening, bringing together the work of contemporary artists who interrogate the life, soul and energy of their artistic material in distinct ways.'

Artist talks at Karekare house residency 27 Tasma Street, North Hobart
Karekare House hosted an inspiring afternoon of artist talks at the weekend - thanks to Wanda Gillespie, Peata Larkin, Heidi Brickell and Richard Adams who have all spent time there as artists-in-residence this year. http://www.karekarehouse.co.nz/
Nestled in a tranquil West Coast valley, 2mins flat walk from the beach; Karekare House (at one point in history nicknamed ‘The Barracks’) sits on over an acre of land, and originates back to the late 19th Century. With such a rich 100 year plus history – at one point owned by the Murdochs; then run as a guest house by the Farleys; then more recently featured in the film ‘The Piano’; and over the last 40 years lovingly restored by the children’s author Dorothy Butler – Karekare House has since been repurposed, transformed into a remote creative artists residency. We intend to continue the life and spirit of Karekare House in one of the most beautiful areas of New Zealand. Karekare House will remain an actively creative space, and very much part of the local community.
